People's collective of Russia Nizhny Novgorod State University named after N. Lobachevsky Academic Choir (Nizhny Novgorod)

NNSU named after N. Lobachevsky Academic Choir is one of the oldest choir collectives of Nizhny Novgorod: its history started in 1949. Vladimir Izyumenko was its artistic director and main conductor for 35 years. Under his leadership, the choir received the honorary title "People's collective of Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic" in 1974.
Nowadays the choir is a participant and laureate of Russian and foreign festivals and competitions of choral music, winner of many honors and awards.
Between the recent awards there are diploma of International festival of university choirs in Valencia (Spain, 1996); Silver diploma of International choral competition in Budapest (Hungary, 2005); Gold diploma of International choral competition in Riva del Garda (Italy, 2006); they became laureates of IV and V All-Russian festival of university choirs "Gaudeamus" (Votkinsk, 2006, 2008); Gold and Silver medals of V World Choir Games at Graz (Austria, 2008); 2 Silver medals of VI World Choir Games in Shaoxing (China, 2010); Gran-prix of I International choral assemblies in Yekaterinburg (Russia, 2011).



Conductor Larisa Erykalova

Graduate of Nizhny Novgorod State Conservatoire named after M. Glinka in 1996 (class of V. Izyumenko). From 1992 till 2002 she was working as a choirmaster of NNSU choir. In 2003 she became the artistic director and conductor of NNSU Academic Choir. In 2006 Larisa was awarded by "Best conductor" diploma at IV festival of university choirs of Russia "Gaudeamus". Since 2004 she is the artistic director of choral festival "Young Voices" (Nizhny Novgorod). In 2010 Larisa Erykalova was awarded by Nizhny Novgorod prize.
